Mari, Thank you! I am continually amazed by the depth of your knowledge, experience and generosity. I highly recommend your work as a CSAT supervisor and business coach without reservation.
— Erin Silva, LMHC, CSAT, Richland, Washington
Your supervision has been invaluable to me, Mari, personally and professionally. I believe you were the person I needed specifically to believe in me, cheer me on, encourage me, STRONGLY guide me and protect me from so many potential catastrophes! As I’m gaining so much experience, and I am more and more grateful for you all of the time. So, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! You are a gift to the CSAT community and to all of us privileged to work with you.
— Amy Parks, LMFT, CSAT-C, Utah
Mari, I want to thank you and let you know that as a CSAT supervisor you inspire me to think of things that are applicable on a much broader scale. I truly enjoy the various perspectives you offer, and the many ways you challenge me to think in directions that I have yet had an opportunity to explore. I am able to use what we discuss in a matter of days, and see the result with clients!
— Phil Ginsburg, LMFT, CSAT, Houston, TX
I made the best decision in my CPTT Certification journey when I asked Mari to be my supervisor. I am ever thankful that she said yes to take me on. Mari has a wealth of knowledge and experience, providing valuable insights and guidance on a wide range of case types. I have grown tremendously under her tutelage. Last but not least, her compassion fills her words and whole self, beautifully role modeling how to create and hold a safe space for clients. Thank you Mari for being my supervisor.

Mari is an incredibly gifted supervisor. Every session, I learned so much from her. Every time I felt stuck with a client, she was able to help me find a way to move deeper into the process. She’s brilliant, encouraging but tough, so empathic and has a wicked sense of humor, too. She’s a treasure!
— Lisa Palac, LMFT, CPTT Los Angeles, CA lisapalac.com
Mari was one of my supervisors while becoming a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist. I have also attended her trainings which are excellent! Her many years of business experience, along with her depth of clinical knowledge, and outright generosity has had a profound influence on my own growth as well as my private practice. Mari brings vast skills including clinical wisdom, professionalism, business savvy and supportive mentorship. When supervision concluded, I contacted Mari the following year and set up business coaching sessions which have been invaluable to my practice and professional growth. The kind of supervision and guidance Mari provides goes above and beyond. In fact, it was a counselor just like Mari that brought me to this rewarding profession in the first place. My gratitude and appreciation to Mari for her professional support runs deep!
— Chris Hebron Marriage & Family Therapist, MS, LMFT, SUDP, CSAT, EMDR, Mt. Vernon, WA. www.creativetherapycounseling.com

I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for your supervision and support Mari. I wish I could put into words how much being under your supervision has meant to me and my growth as a therapist. You are an amazing example of what it means to empower and provide wisdom as you guided me through both the MBATT and CPTT certification training. My life has changed because of you Mari. I will forever be grateful.
— Angela Hayes, MS, LPD, NCC, CPTT, MBATT, IFS informed, WWW.HOPEHOUSEHEALING.COM
Mari, I have moved forward in my life and career in the most profound ways due to the strong female mentors placed in my path - in a very short time I count you among them. I am so impressed by your experience in the field, your mastery of the art of language, and your clear business sense. I am in awe of all you have accomplished and the way you have learned to be a truly empowered woman - not a woman trying to get or use power as modeled by men. Because of this confidence I feel in this match with you, I know I am ready to take on this challenging new area of counseling specialization and learn how to offer excellent care to those in need. I like the way you think, and I look forward to learning more!
— Sherry Danner, LMFT, CSAT, Kansas City, KS
I was very fortunate to be able to connect with Mari for CSAT Supervision. What is so great about Mari is her compassionate approach to me as a person, as a candidate, and as an individual. Her supervision approach, her knowledge of the CSAT tasks, along with her openness to acknowledge my creative ideas, as well as really listening to me, allowed me to feel comfortable and to speak freely and openly. Mari’s support in supervision is incredible for my soul, spirit and well being, she is a safe and supportive person to work with. Although I met Mari for a specific reason of CSAT supervision, after a few meetings with Mari, I started to feel better about myself in my life. I feel encouraged, empowered, and excited now! I am confident that I can succeed in meeting my CSAT goals, as thanks to Mari, I feel more reassured and acknowledged as a person and a therapist. Thank you Mari, I will always be grateful to you for your interest, warm heart, and clear supervision instructions.
— Jadwiga Binczak, MA, CSAT, Canada
Mari, I truly appreciate your CSAT Supervision and guidance. I see you as a mentor and lantern on my journey towards being a successful private practice therapist, until I can light my own way. Thank you for your support!
— Molly Papp, LMFT, CSAT, Long Beach, CA.
Finding a competent CSAT Supervisor has some real similarities to what our clients go through trying to find a competent therapist. Just because someone has the letters behind their name doesn’t mean they are good at what they do, and many of the clients I work with are having to work through the wounds they experienced by other therapists (who I believe were well meaning). I certainly experienced that same fearful place as I had just come off a painful experience with a CSAT Supervisor and I did not want to have a repeat performance of the judgement and shame that I experienced. Reaching out to Mari, from the very first phone call, was such a caring and supportive experience. I knew from my very first supervision that I had found the safe place that I needed to grow and stretch and evolve as a CSAT and clinician. Mari’s blend of compassion, knowledge and helpful guidance to learn and apply the task model and assessments has been inestimably valuable to me. She’s tough as woodpecker lips, yet her words are always under girded with nurturing, grace, and wisdom. I’ve invested in the “science” of being a CSAT...and am now investing in the “heart” of how to weave it all together!
— Ken Howard, MS, LMFT, Kansas City, MO.
Mari, I really can’t express how much I have taken from our time together. It’s been wonderful and I’m so grateful. Thank you so much for your CPTT supervision, guidance and wisdom!
— Erin Stretar, LISW-S, CPTT-C, North Canton, Ohio, www.avenuesofcounseling.com

— Heidi Monuteaux, MA, LMHC, CSAT, Bellevue, WA

— David Feder, BSW, MSW, CSAT-C, Toronto, Canada
Mari Lee’s supervision changed how I run my private practice and how I work alongside clients during recovery. Mari is reflexive in her work; through her gentle, and yet steady, relational support, I became aware of the areas in which I needed to strengthen my boundaries with clients- both for my own health and for their recovery. She shared in my empowering approach, while integrating multiple counseling orientations and suggestions for clients’ development. I have integrated all of her suggestions and found her straight forward approach enabled me to get to the core of the issue with the client, which created a clearer treatment plan in focus, while staying true to the clients’ treatment goals. I found Mari’s forms for disclosure to be invaluable; she created a wonderful template to help navigate the complex and unique nature of disclosure within the mental health field. The most rewarding experience, for me, was engaging in laughs and existential reflections in the vulnerability of who Mari is. I deeply appreciate her effortless transfer of knowledge, her wisdom, and her continual push for inner empowerment for all. She is an invaluable supervisor who provides safe support for anyone who has the opportunity to work under her.
— Marie Damgaard, CSAT, Alberta, Canada

— Rhonda Taylor, MFT Intern, CSAT-C, Pasadena, CA
Thank you Mari for guiding me through one of the most daunting challenges of becoming a competent Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT). You helped me to build the skills and confidence to facilitate Formal Disclosure, and generously shared proven tools to assist the process. I have now facilitated three Formal Disclosures and with each one feel increasingly confident that I am making a difference in my clients’ recovery. I hope our paths cross again!
— Claire Caines, LCSW, LCADC, CSAT, Newton, NJ

Mari, I have learned from the breadth of your knowledge and appreciated your clinical sensitivity. Your empathic, understanding support throughout the certification process has helped me integrate my CSAT training into my professional identity. By breathing ‘heart and soul’ into the tasks, your supervision empowered me to work as a CSAT as an expression of my authentic self. Thank you!
— Jeremy Mast, MS, MDiv, LMFT, CSAT, Pasadena, CA.
Mari, want to thank you for your excellent supervision and insightful knowledge. I really learned so much from you over our time togehter, and our session on on Love Addiction was excellent! I ordered your e-book “The Creative Clinician: Exercises and Activities for Clients and Group Therapy” this morning and feel now that I have an entire treatment plan on working with Love Addicts. You are truly talented and have a gift for working with clinicians. I feel more confident in my approach and appreciate all of your feedback. I would like to continue working with you in the future and look forward to our upcoming coaching sessions.
— Elizabeth Ulirsch, MA, CSAT, Beverly Hills, CA.
When I began my CSAT training, I felt overwhelmed by all the new information. Mari, your kindhearted and wise feedback in supervision helped me apply that knowledge to my practice and grow in my confidence as a CSAT Candidate. Your extensive knowledge of assessments and the 30 tasks offered unique and helpful insights that I wouldn’t have put together on my own. Not only have you built up my clinical skills, but you’ve also encouraged me to grow my fledgling private practice through groups. I’ve loved seeing your prioritization of therapeutic boundaries and self-care, and it’s given my perfectionist self permission to be mindful and realistic about my limits. Thank you so much for your support!
— Elizabeth Jackson, MA, LLP, CSAT-C Ann Arbor, MI
It has been such an honor to have been mentored by Mari as a CSAT candidate and clinical therapist.  There are few if any supervisors in the counseling field who are are as knowledgeable and so incredibly warm and encouraging at the same time.  As a recovering partner of sex addiction hoping to bring the gifts of strength, hope and resiliency to my clients, I am grateful to have found these gifts in Mari’s guidance.

— Kim Litton LCSW, CAP, CSAT, North Palm Beach, FL. klcounseling.com
When I pursued this specialization I felt a little intimidated about the learning process. From the beginning, I felt very supported and safe working with Mari. Throughout this process, I felt Mari guiding me as a supervisor and helping me with my therapeutic confidence as a CSAT in training. Since obtaining my certification, I know that Mari’s hand of support is still there, but I now have the skills and tools needed thanks to my work and Mari’s support.
— Stephanie R. Dietrich, LCSW, CSAT, Houston, TX
I have so much enjoyed and feel it a privilege to have you as my supervisor Mari. You
have been so kind, patient, and encouraging. Thank you so much for all of the great expertise and wisdom you have shared with me. There is not enough words to express my gratitude for all of your kindness and guidance.
— Earline Chance, LPC, CSAT, Monroe, La.
